RME stands for rapeseed methyl ester, which describes the chemical composition of the biodiesel content.

Why is B100 Biodiesel RME Premium defined as 1st generation biofuel?
Biodiesel produced from rapeseed or other agricultural crops is referred to as 1st generation biodiesel, which differs from 2nd generation biofuels that are produced from waste and residues.

Why can the CO2 reduction vary when it comes to biodiesel?
This is due, among other things, to different use of fertiliser, rotational crops etc. and different production methods, including which process energy is used in the production.

What are the overall advantages of running on biodiesel?
There are several advantages of running on biodiesel, including in particular:

  • Up to 70% CO2e reduction compared to regular diesel
  • Financial savings compared to regular diesel
  • Increased lubricity, which gives less wear on the long track

Aren’t there many operational problems associated with running on biodiesel?
If the fuel is stored correctly, the fuel filter is replaced regularly, and you make sure to switch to winter quality at freezing temperatures, then there are no more operational problems associated with biodiesel than there are with regular diesel.

After a good rape harvest and rising taxes on regular diesel, the market looks incredibly favorable for B100 Biodiesel RME Premium. The price has dropped drastically, and the way the market is going, there is a lot of money to be made by switching to biodiesel, as experts predict that this divide between biodiesel and regular diesel will continue…
