One question we often get is whether ordinary cars can run on HVO100 Renewable Diesel.
HVO100 Renewable Diesel is fully compatible with regular diesel, and therefore the product can also be used in all trucks, cars, vans, taxis and more.
It is therefore also possible at the Biofuel Express stations in Sweden to refuel as a passenger car, as there are pumps which provide 40 liters per minute.
But one thing is that all vehicles in practice can run on HVO100 Renewable Diesel – another thing is whether the fuel is approved in relation to the warranty on the car.
Over the years, many tests of HVO have been carried out in collaboration with various car manufacturers. Most manufacturers have already approved HVO100 for their diesel cars, including Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, SEAT, Renault, Mercedes-Benz, Citroën, Peugeot, and Volvo, as well as major truck manufacturers such as MAN, DAF, Scania, Iveco, VDL, Solaris, Cummins, and New Holland. See all the approved vehicles here.
In the few cases where the manufacturer has not approved the car to run on HVO100, Biofuel Express has a separate insurance that covers the use of the product for both large and small vehicles, ships, and locomotives, as long as it is used in diesel engines. In this way, Biofuel Express can help ensure safe and secure operation on fossil-free diesel.
