AdBlue

AdBlue

What is AdBlue®?

In order to meet the environmental standards for Euro IV and Euro V trucks on HGV emissions, the majority of

manufacturers have chosen SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology to reduce nitrogen oxides. The SCR-equipped vehicles use urea, a liquid solution called AdBlue®.

AdBlue is a non-hazardous 32.5% solution of urea, a nitrogen compound in demineralised water specifically developed to treat exhaust gases.

AdBlue is stored in a small dedicated tank on your truck and is injected into the exhaust gases before passing through the SCR catalytic converter. This converter breaks the gases down into harmless natural water and nitrogen.

SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology significantly reduces nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate emissions, allowing SCR-equipped vehicles to comply with Euro 4 (2006) and Euro 5 (2009) legislation.

Biofuel Express currently sell AdBlue directly from Biofuel Express stations.
